Dr. Ana Peric re-joins the SPUR team as a Senior Researcher

On September 1, 2021, Dr. Ana Peric joined the Chair of Spatial Development and Urban Policy (SPUR) of Prof. Dr. David Kaufmann at ETH Zürich.

After Fulbright-funded research in the United States, Dr. Ana Peric re-joins the SPUR Chair to start the research within the FCL Global project Dense and Green Cities: Emerging models of integrated urban development. The project’s Work Package (WP) on Governance identifies the current planning instruments and governance approaches to dense and green cities. More specifically, project WP focuses on improving planning and governance mechanisms to achieve dense and green transformation. Using Zurich’s district of Altstetten as a case study, the WP ultimately elucidates the possibilities for inclusive, democratic, and socio-economically balanced efforts to implement inner development, climate change and green city policies.

The project research tasks are tailored to Dr. Peric’s interests and expertise in collaborative planning tools, methods and theory. The research on collaborative planning instruments and procedures in the context of Swiss direct democracy is compatible with her research on comparative planning studies, observed through the lens of both the planning systems and planning cultures.
