Anouk Kuitenbrouwer and Claudia Sinatra join the IRL and SPUR team as lecturer and scientific assistant in Spatial Planning and Urban Design.
They will teach and support teaching of the international master’s programme Spatial Development and Infrastructure Systems and of the bachelor’s programme Geospatial Engineering.
As of Summer 2022, Anouk Kuitenbrouwer and Claudia Sinatra join the Chair of Spatial Development and Urban Policy (SPUR) based at the Institute of Spatial and Landscape Development (IRL) at ETH Zürich. Together with Prof. Dr. David Kaufmann they will focus on teaching, adding their urban design expertise to the group and institute.

As a partner at KCAP in Zurich, Anouk is responsible for a large number of architecture and urban planning projects in Switzerland, across Europe and in Southeast Asia, with a focus on urban transformations, area development around mobility hubs, innovation districts and strategic master planning. Despite Switzerland’s solid planning practice, urban planning is still the outlier between spatial planning and architecture. Anouk would like to contribute to closing this gap, raise awareness of an interdisciplinary approach and explore today's challenges with a new generation of professionals.

Trained as an architect, Claudia is an urban designer operating at the intersection of art, sociology and urbanism. Through her interdisciplinary and people-centered approach, she finds educational value in sociospatial processes and practices, seeking to find the link between professional praxis and knowledge production in spatial planning education. Parallel to her commitment to teaching, Claudia currently collaborates with the Zurich planning office, Planwerkstadt, where she focuses on developing strategic spatial concepts for public authorities and private developers, as well as facilitating design processes in complex urban transformation projects in Switzerland.
