Beatrice Meloni joins SPUR as a guest researcher
Beatrice is a PhD candidate in Urban Planning, Design, and Policy at the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies (DASTU), Politecnico di Milano.
With her research, she investigates the conditions that determine housing accessibility for the migrant population in European cities, looking at the interconnections between housing issues and migration phenomena from a class perspective. After a visiting period at the Institute of Geography at the University of Neuchatel, she is currently joining the SPUR team to conduct her fieldwork in Zurich.
She gained a Master of Advanced Studies in Urban Design at ETH and a Master’s in Architecture at Politecnico di Torino. She worked as an architect and urban designer in Italy and Switzerland.
With her study, she will make a contribution to the discussion on growing housing pressure in Zurich, bringing to the center the experience of social groups that play a crucial role in the physical and social transformation of our cities.
