Dr. Yue ‘Gurt’ Ge joins the SPUR team

Dr. Yue ‘Gurt’ Ge will join SPUR as a Visiting Professor from April to June 2025 collaborating with Dr. David Kaufmann on a comparative study, entitled “Equitable Housing Resilience to Extreme Heat in Orlando and Zurich”, an interdisciplinary research project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.

Yizhao Du joins SPUR as a visiting PhD

Yizhao Du joins the SPUR Team from the Delft University of Technology as a visiting doctoral researcher. His research primarily addresses the complexities of mega-regional governance while highlighting the importance of smaller urban entities conceptualized as secondary cities.

Dr. Sarah Schilliger joins the SPUR team

Dr. Sarah Schilliger joins the SPUR team as a senior researcher in the project ‘Urban Essential Workers’ (NRP-80 of Swiss National Science Foundation) where she investigates the working realities and politics of regulation in the sectors of cleaning, urban transport, childcare and food retailing.

Dr. Niels van Doorn joins the SPUR team

Dr. Niels van Doorn joins the SPUR team as a Visiting Professor conducting research on the spatio-temporal evolution of online and locally tethered labor platforms. He will also work on his next book project, based on his completed Platform Labor project.
